Madrid: the cult of gastronomy

Madrid begins the year with one of its best plans, the Madrid Fusion 2015 Food Festival which will gather the crème de la crème of the Spanish and most influential cuisines in the world. Besides, more than 400 establishments in the capital of Spain will turn on the stoves intending to surprise the visitors from January 31th to February 15th.

This event, which has the support of the Madrid Council, covers all types of plans where gastronomy is the main course, including original and creative seasonings: new sensory experiences from the most sophisticated dishes, conferences, talks and workshops about gastroculture, fashion and gastronomy, health and gastronomy and nutrition… All this from innovative perspectives, trying to stand out this industry which has turned into one of the mainstays of the tourism in Spain and, specifically, into one of the main attractions in Madrid as a holiday destination.

For gastronomy lovers, gourmets and cuisine fans, Madrid is a must visit destination if you want to escape a few days at the end of January. The most recommended option is to look for an accommodation in the centre of Madrid (a hotel in La Gran Via or close to Plaza Mayor, where we can enjoy some of the best gastronomic establishments and tapas routes which make part of the food festival) or an accommodation close to IFEMA, where the Madrid Fusion will be celebrated: a hotel next to Arturo Soria or in Ciudad Lineal, for example.

You can move by metro, bus and taxi, or even rent a bicycle, a pair of skates or a skateboard -which are very common in the centre- to tour the city on wheels and turn the visit into a different and amusing experience. Additionally, you have the advantage of finding a parking space easily in the centre of Madrid.
