Shopping in Andorra

Andorra is known worldwide for its commercial tradition and the possibility of buying products cheaper than in other countries like Spain. In years past, goods bought in the Principality were not taxed, for which reason they were very competitive, but nowadays is different. Although you can still purchase specific products cheaper, but price difference is not so large.

In any case, we cannot deny that shopping in Andorra is still a great experience, thanks to its variety of shops, products and labels, you can find everything! This has made of Andorra a place where you find shops all over the country, although most of the establishments are situated in the parishes of Andorra la Vella (capital) and Escaldes-Engordany.

The Meritxell avenue is very famous in the capital, it crosses the entire city and is full of all types of shops. In Escaldes-Engordany, we find the well-known Carlemany avenue, which stands out for its abundance of shops.

The big shopping centres are gathered in the Sant Julià de Lòria parish, offering a wide range of electronic products, music, cuisine and household goods.

What you really must bear in mind when you go shopping in Andorra are the customs duties and exemptions. The exemption from customs duties is the permission not to pay a quantity of products crossing the frontier. Check the requirements for each type of product and do not be taken by surprise when you arrive home.
